The Premier’s Fund for Children and Young People aims to increase recreational and social options for young Tasmanians and is a key action in Tasmania’s whole-of-government Child and Youth Wellbeing Strategy – It Takes a Tasmanian Village.

The grant program was developed in response to feedback received from children and young people who said they needed more things to do within their local communities.

Grants of up to $30,000 are available from a funding pool of $500,000 for projects that increase children and young people’s participation in local recreational or social activities.

Eligible applicants include incorporated associations, Local Government Councils, not-for-profit community organisations, non-Government schools and Parents and Friends Associations of Government schools.

Grants are open from 12 August 2023 to 2 October 2023. Successful applicants will be notified before the end of 2023.
