The Premier’s Fund for Children and Young People aims to increase recreational and social options for young Tasmanians.

The grant program responds to the voices of children and young people who wrote directly to the Premier during the consultation to develop Tasmania’s Child and Youth Wellbeing Strategy – It Takes a Tasmanian Village.

Grants rounds for the fund were undertaken in 2021/22 and 2023/24 with $2 million in funding provided to 66 projects that increased children and young people's participation in recreational or social activities in their local communities.

Successful projects responded to a need that had been identified by the local community, in particular a need identified by children and young people.
